Ji Chang-wook is a highly acclaimed South Korean actor and singer, born on 5 July 1987. He gained prominence for his role as Dong-hae in the daily drama series "Smile Again" (2010–2011). Since then, he has delivered stellar performances in various television series, including "Warrior Baek Dong-soo" (2011), "Empress Ki" (2013–2014), "Healer" (2014–2015), "The K2" (2016), "Suspicious Partner" (2017), "Melting Me Softly" (2019), "Backstreet Rookie" (2020), "Lovestruck in the City" (2020-2021), "The Sound of Magic" (2022), "If You Wish Upon Me" (2022), "The Worst of Evil" (2023), and "Welcome to Samdal-ri" (2023-2024).

Career:

Ji began his career in musical theatre and made his onscreen debut in the 2006 film "Days..." His official debut came in 2008 with the film "Sleeping Beauty." Notably, he played a lead role in the 159-episode daily drama "Smile Again" (2010), earning him the "Best Actor in a Daily Drama" award. Subsequently, he starred in series like "Warrior Baek Dong-soo" (2011), "Bachelor's Vegetable Store" (2011), and took on an antagonist role in "Five Fingers" (2012).

His breakthrough came in 2013 with the historical drama "Empress Ki," where he portrayed Toghon Temür, receiving critical acclaim. Ji's popularity soared with the action-thriller series "Healer" (2014-2015), leading to international success. He continued to make a mark in the industry with roles in dramas like "The K2" (2016), "Suspicious Partner" (2017), and "Melting Me Softly" (2019).

In 2020, Ji starred in the romantic comedy series "Backstreet Rookie" and the web series "Lovestruck in the City." His diverse roles extended to the 2021 thriller film "Hard Hit." In 2022, he appeared in the Netflix series "The Sound of Magic" and the KBS2 drama "If You Wish Upon Me."

Establishing an Agency:In March 2023, Ji concluded his contract with Glorious Entertainment and announced the establishment of his one-man agency in collaboration with his manager of over ten years. Subsequently, in April 2023, he signed with Spring Company.

Personal Life:

Ji Chang-wook commenced his mandatory military service in August 2017, completing his training with distinction. He served in the Army's 5th Artillery Brigade at Cheorwon, Gangwon Province, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Ji was discharged on 27 April 2019.

Philanthropy:Demonstrating his commitment to social causes, Ji donated 100 million won in February 2023 to aid the victims of the 2023 Turkey–Syria earthquake through Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association.
